We have had a number of customers get in touch with us regarding the strike action in the BT and Openreach workforces. The strikes are set to take place on Friday 29 July and Monday 1 August, and clients are querying what this means for them.

According to BT and Openreach responses, if industrial action does take place, they will do everything they can to reduce interruptions to service, by implementing tested continuity plans and processes used during the pandemic to help them manage the impact of reductions in their available workforce.

What does this mean for you?

Although Eurolink use both BT and Openreach to support some of our services, your contract remains with us, and our teams will still be fully available to support your needs. Whilst specific detail about the strike action, and the impact on services has not yet been released, we will be continuously monitoring the issue to identify and mitigate any potential issues, and we will also be proactively scheduling any works or upgrades to avoid the proposed strike days. Logically, the disruptions will most likely affect planned engineering and upgrade works, and we don’t expect any client services or connectivity to be affected.

Any clients that are likely to have works affected by the strike action, will be notified in advance and we will work together to find proactive solutions too.
