We’re delighted to be supporting mobile cancer treatment charity Hope for Tomorrow, by providing laptops and tablets to help them deliver their lifesaving work…

Hope for Tomorrow is a local Gloucestershire charity and NHS partner providing vital mobile care for cancer patients during COVID. We’re proud to be supporting their work, by providing 13 tablets for use in the charity’s mobile cancer units and seven laptops to assist staff with secure remote working. The tablets will be used to gain patient feedback on how the mobile service has improved their wellbeing and quality of life while fighting cancer, while the laptops will enable staff to have the necessary tools to work from home and follow the current COVID restrictions.

Hope for Tomorrow, founded in 2003, has been appealing for support during the pandemic as COVID cases surge and NHS services have been stretched to the limit. Lack of direct access and increased health risks for extremely vulnerable cancer patients attending hospital clinics has meant that the charity has been able to assist NHS Trusts by ensuring sufferers’ critical treatment continues within a safe environment. Fundraising and support from businesses such as Eurolink Connect mean that its thirteen mobile care units can provide care nationally by visiting patients’ local communities on a daily basis.

Leanda Bickley, Head of Partnerships and Fleet at Hope for Tomorrow, commented: “In normal circumstances, these mobile units provide an essential service, but they are needed now more than ever to give patients access to life-saving treatment whilst keeping them away from hospital buildings and the risks of COVID. These units mean fewer miles for cancer patients to travel so they can spend more time with family, friends, and loved ones. This reduces patients’ stress to aid their recovery, as well as cutting down on their expenses and allowing them to focus on their life rather than their treatment.”

Claire Maddox, Managing Director of Eurolink Connect, said: “Many of us within Eurolink have been affected one way or another by cancer so when Hope for Tomorrow approached us, we were only too pleased to help.  We were able to call on the support of one of our suppliers, The Change, to help source the laptops and tablets, and we are delighted to provide much-needed support to such a crucial cause. In this time of great need for mobile cancer care, we urge other businesses to help support this vital service if they possibly can.”
